Though I choose my route carefully, there are a couple of "tight spots" along the way where I really want to be seen. During the last year or so, a variety of truly bright tail lights have come out, visible during daylight hours from quite a distance. The Cygolite Hotshot 2-Watt USB, in my mind, is the best.Is there a noticeable difference between a 2 watt LED and a single watt? My wife, who overtakes me in her car on the way to work, says "YES!". The crew is tiny and I dropped the nut a couple of times.The screw held my Hotshot tightly on the seat post. The light is very bright on slow blink and on steady, not as bright when blinking fast, next to my Danger Zone's fast blink. The Hotshot's beam is very directional. One must take care to aim it exactly at the car driver's eyes, coming from behind, and that is not always easy given the slant angle of the seat post. One user complained about the loose crew. It could be that her seat post diameter is smaller than mine. In any case, a rubber insert was provided and one could use more rubber insert if needed. The built-in, rechargeable, Li Ion battery is a new a modern touch compared to external NiMh batteries, and is a joy to use.
