Needless to say, the rust protection does not last more than a week of daily riding. On the other hand, it's hard to expect long metal binding for a cleaning substance.So, if you wan to see advertised effects on your bike chain, use it twice a week - make them rich. --- Update June 21, 2012 With all being said, I have to admit that this product was my primary cleaning and lubrication material for the commuter bike over the winter season. It left my 10+ year old chain clean, well lubricated, and made shifting quieter than before. The only thing I would improve would be the nozzle hole. By the sixth day, the chain was bone dry and went back to being noisy. Not sure if this typical of bike lubricants but I can't say that I am satisfied. I live in NYC where it's moderately humid and not that dusty, so I thought a wet lubricant would work best. Maybe a dry lubricant would perform better. Additionally, my chain didn't appear any cleaner after using the solution. I ended up resorting to a scrub brush to remove all the grease build-up. This 1-step clean and lubricate solution seems like a gimmick.In summary... As a lubricant, this product works well but only for a few days. It definitely will not clean your chain on its own as the advertisers claim. Overall, I'm a bit disappointed with this product. 3/5 stars. |
